This collection of poetry is centered around what is known to some as shadow work.
Shadow work is the dark and heavy feelings, the sides of ourselves that we don’t like encountering and having conversations with. Shadow work is our wounds and our pent up energy; they say that you must get through the mud in order to arrive on land. This collection shows the journey and the ups and downs of going through the motions of working on ourselves and our beliefs. We all struggle with connecting sometimes, but then again sometimes the most connection you do is through the hard work. We are never as disconnected as we might believe, and as each poem goes into the flow of highs and lows, they portray that there is always something to learn in every situation, good or bad.
Here is to acknowledging our shadows and even becoming friends with them.
